Getting Started with AlohaShop

After your store has been installed and your Mal's and Paypal accounts have been updated, you're ready to get started!

1. The Administration Area
Access your administration area using the login information provided to you. If you have forgotten the password, click the Forgot your password? link to have the information emailed to you.

2. Starting Out
When you first access the administration area, you will see a help screen with information on how to access your system. Follow the instructions, or click the help icon at the top right corner of each page.

3. Update Your Template
Click the "Template" link to change the template or add a custom design.

4. Update Your System Variables
Select the "Site Settings" link to make adjustments to the main settings and "Catalog Setup" changes the catalog settings. The "Fonts and Colors" changes the colors of links and font faces.

5. Add Pages
Use the "Pages" link to add and modify the content of any page or add new pages. Follow the instructions obtained by clicking the help icon at the top right corner of the administration page.

6. Add Categories
Once your pages are up, you can start setting up your catalog. Enter categories by clicking the "Categories" link and selecting "Add". Follow the instructions obtained by clicking the help icon at the top right corner of the administration page.

7. Add Your Products
After categories have been entered, use the "Products" link to add new items. Follow the instructions obtained by clicking the help icon at the top right corner of the administration page. You can also upload text files through the "Global Update" link.

8. Add Additional Features
Use the appropriate links in the right column of your admin to add a wholesale area, a wish list, gift certificates, articles or FAQs, include a calendar, send info through Froogle, etc.

9. Backup Your Database
Use the "Back Up" link to make a copy of your database for safekeeping. Note that this only backs up your database - it will not back up your template. Save the template separately for best results.
