How to set up coupons in AlohaShop
This can be confusing, but there are two ways to do coupons.
If
you want to just do a % off, you can add the coupon through your AlohaShop admin, make up any code for it you want, and the customer will be
able to use that coupon code by putting it in a little coupon box that
I can add to your home page (email me with the username and password
for your store and I will add that if you don't already have it).
You'll know it's working because when a valid code is entered, a little
message will show up toward the top that says something like "A xx%
discount will be applied...etc." Instead of using the coupon box, you
can also click Get Code in your admin and it will give you a URL that
you can email to someone to get the discount.
If you want to
do a coupon for a $ off, you have one spot left in Mal's where you can
do that in the Cart Setup section, under "Vouchers" in spot #5. (The
other four spots that are taken are for your gift certificates and should NOT be changed.) For customers to use this code, they will enter it during checkout in the Voucher box.
So,
to summarize - percentage discounts can be entered right through your AlohaShop admin. To do a specific dollar amount off, you would have to
go to Mal's to set that up.
